Summer 2013 I started an Art Journal. I intended to fill it up with all kinds of artsy things. But I lost momentum. This is what I have so far. Resolution for this year: FILL THAT THING UP!
Last year two of my favourite people got married! And to each other no less! And they built a house! So I thought long and hard about what to give them for the wedding. Money is always good, but something self-made is personal and unique.
The summer before, we drove to a local farm together because they wanted to adopt a kitten. They found theirs and I fell in love with mine and very spontaneously decided to adopt her. Which was one of the best decisions I ever made. She brings me joy every day!
Perfect for basing a wedding gift on, right? RIGHT!
After some research and surfing for inspiration, I settled on a cat-statue, for their soon to be garden! And this is the story of that statue!
Some weeks after I finished my cat statue I went shopping with a friend and we were in this home interior shop. She points at a HUGE statue of a Moai and says: „I want one of these for my garden!“ And I said: „Aha! Yes, these are cool!“
2 weeks later I get the invitation to her birthday get-together and I thought: „Hm. I can not make the 1,5m tall Moai-statue. But maybe his tiny little brother?“ Moai – Easter Island Statue weiterlesen
